After moving to Columbia, SC, post-COVID, Smedley continues to advocate for citizens and communities on topics like the future workforce, resilience, and future of work, education, energy and sustainability initiatives. She serves on the board of inSkill.ai, and PITSCO, and has participated in the SC Home Energy Labeling Working Group, IFT, and IoT working groups.

Her second book, “Sustainable in a Circular World,” provided her with deep insights into our generational workforce, sustainability, resilience, and was chosen as a Book of the Year. Peggy has collaborated on eight books and authored her first book, “Mending Manufacturing: How America Can Manufacture its Survival,” a book detailing all aspects of the American manufacturing crisis, 2014.
